I fake-tanned for the first time in 8 years and it was because of this product. - Sontse.

"In my previous life, I was a devoted self-tanner (I still cringe when I see my 30th birthday bronze), but time, kids and my beloved partner having a... sensitive nose (I cannot with his complaints about the smell) meant that I hung up my bronzing mitt. Until last week.

The product that got me there was Sontse Sun Lit Face & Body Tan Mist, $35, or more specifically, its founder, Jayde. I saw this excellent campaign they did raising awareness about the dangers of sun-tanning, followed up by an excellent tee collaboration where Sontse donated $10 of sales to the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation, and then Jayde and I got chatting in the DMs. We brought the yap to an IRL coffee date and she gave me the mist, promising that not only was the colour light, buildable and virtually foolproof, but that Phil would not complain about the smell.

Jayde was right. I cautiously used it before Melbourne Fashion Week, buffing with the Absolutely Flawless Face & Body Blending Brush, $30, (love) and washing off after only four hours, and the effect was so subtle, it was like my skin, but glowier, and gave me the confidence to go in again with a six-hour wash-off. And I didn't mess it up! The formula has aloe vera, vitamin E, kiwi seed oil, and Kakadu plum, which means none of that sandpapery-skin feel (another pet hate), but the real test: not a single murmur from the complaints department.

Not one. You win, Sontse."
